地名与历史[edit]
据地名由来的说法，先祖从德化县迁入，最初称作“下阳”，后人谐音写作夏阳。[1]
另一说见于概况：明宣德元年（1426年），郭荣一由德化县汤头迁来，当时已有尤、洪二姓居此，后二姓相继绝嗣。[2]
此地在明清时期划入四十九都，民国时归嵩洋保，解放初改属夏阳乡；集体化后另立大队，归新桥公社；1984年起改设夏阳村。[1][2]
古迹与民俗[edit]
文峰寺俗称天明岩，始建于明代，香火延续至今。村尾的五都寨旧为防御贼寇的寨堡，嵩口坂的墟场也留有遗址。[2]
郭家的鸭苗孵化是传统的家庭副业，村民还会编织草席、夏布，并有夏阳坑戏的演出传统。[2]
