新阳镇位于福建省三明市尤溪县西南部，东接坂面镇与西城镇，西邻大田县，北面毗邻管前镇，下辖1个社区和23个行政村。[1][4]

镇名取自旧时“新洋”与“夏阳”两个地方的名称。1943年前后，两地的基层单位合并，各取一字命名为新阳；1992年撤乡建镇，沿用此名。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

这一带唐开元年间已属尤溪县，早先称新桥，宋代分属常平乡与河丰城乡的几处里和迳田里。明清时它分属尤溪县的四十九、五十等都，民国初年两都各设保董统辖。[2][3]

1934年尤溪县划为六个区，新桥为第六区；1955年各区改以驻地命名，此区改称新桥区。1958年先后并为人民公社，1981年，因泰宁县有一个公社同名，此处公社驻地所在村的名字被用作公社名，1984年改设池田乡。[3]

1992年撤乡建镇，镇名定为新阳。博雅地名网两处记载的撤乡建镇月份不同，此处只写年份。[2][3]

地理环境[edit]

镇域位于尤溪县西南部边境，博雅地名网所载全镇面积为253.62平方千米，耕地2309.3公顷，镇区距尤溪县城约48公里。[2]

莆炎高速和国道G235线、G534线穿过镇区，境内四条公路干线之一是通往三明闽南方向的交通要道。[2]

经济与交通[edit]

传统上以农业为主，粮食作物以水稻、甘薯为主，经济作物有烟叶、茶叶、黄豆、木薯、甘蔗等，水果以金柑、红心柚为多。当地的红粬、粉干、草席与陶瓷也是土产。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

双鲤村的公馆峡民居亦称卢公馆，是民国时期闽北军阀卢兴邦的旧宅，这处民居占地3150平方米、建筑2194平方米，属县级文物保护单位。[5][2]

文化[edit]

南芹小腔戏获认定为「省级非物质文化遗产」，溪坂村的堂鼓制作在市级代表性项目之列，属第五批公布。[2]

双鲤村2012年12月列入第一批中国传统村落名录，大坋村2019年6月列入第五批名录。[5][6]
