桂峰村地处洋中镇东北一带，与南平市樟湖镇相邻；村子始建于南宋淳祐七年（1247年），属依山而建的高山型传统村落。[1]

2007年6月，桂峰村被评为「中国历史文化名村」，村中现存明清古建筑39座。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

村落的开基人是北宋名臣蔡襄的九世孙蔡长，他于南宋淳祐七年在此定居。[1][3]

村名初定为「岭头」，后因广种桂花改称「桂岭」，明代蔡姓成为村中望族，外人多称之为「蔡岭」或「蔡岭头」，最后正名为「桂峰」。[1]

尤溪通往福州的官道经过这里，村子曾是往来行人食宿的中转地，旧时有「小福州」之称。[3][4]

地理环境[edit]

村子海拔550米，属半高山谷地，四周群山环抱。村落依山坡而建，分布在三面山坡上，面朝山谷，一条溪流穿村而过。[1][2]

人口民族[edit]

据2017年尤溪县政府网站所载，全村349户、1268人，村民全部为蔡姓。[2]

经济[edit]

村中以酿酒、土特产销售和旅游业为主要产业。[1]

文化[edit]

村子2011年被评为「国家级生态村」，2011年12月入选首批特色乡村游，2012年12月获「中国最有魅力休闲乡村」称号，同月入选「中国传统村落」名录。[1]

2021年，桂峰村被列入省级乡村治理示范村。[5]
