际后村位于尤溪县北部，北与南平市延平区太平镇杉岭接壤，距集镇约7公里，属西滨镇[1]。村名取际下、后山两个自然村各一字而成[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期此地属十三都，民国时期称际后保。解放初改为乡，此后1958年间组建大队，1984年起称际后村，并设村委会[1]。

地理与人口[edit]

村域总面积11.3平方千米，海拔136米，下辖际下、东山寨两个自然村，共426户、1685人[2]。耕地1409亩，森林14303亩，森林覆盖率83%[2]。

古建筑与人才[edit]

村中的五显宫和观音楼已列为县级重点文物保护单位，两座建筑在文革中被毁，现已恢复原貌[2]。明朝丰年间至清代，村中考取进士1人，另有多名秀才；新中国成立后，陈克棉考入清华大学[2]。

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，际后村获命名「2021年福建省卫生村」[1]。
