革命历史[edit]
西芹村地处山高路陡的地带，是革命老区[2]。解放前，林志群为首的革命志士曾在村中开展游击活动，得到村民帮助[2]。村中的邱隆丰、甘梅卿等人曾参加革命；邱隆丰烈士解放前牺牲于白沙县白云山，甘梅卿解放后获授革命功臣称号[2]。
村史[edit]
宋代已有人在此定居，明清时期属尤溪十四都[1]。1958年成立西芹生产大队，1984年改为西芹村委会[1]。2000年后，村委会设在镇政府所在地[1]。1994年前后，全体村民迁居镇区西侧定居[2]。
人口与产业[edit]
全村151户、470人，村中出产梨、枇杷等水果，曾获三明市「水果之村」称号[2]。
