地理位置[edit]
村东北与梅营村为界，西部临河设有渡口，隔河与半山村相望。东南与城关镇的下村村、石路村相邻，尤口公路穿过村中。[1]
沿革[edit]
村原有上老柄、下白石两个小村落，现已集居为一个自然村。[1]
人文[edit]
清代康熙年间，周姓在汶潭开基。始祖周之楫曾任武平县司训，退休后在家设私塾，教授子弟，并招收村中青少年入学。其子孙中多人考取郡庠生，清代考中邑庠生的有14人。[1]
武庠生周熙光在家设立武馆授徒，其学生中同一科有16人考中武庠生，乡人称为“名老武师”。[1]
资源与产业[edit]
村内山地多产杉、松等木材，部分山地储有金属矿和白云石。白云石可加工为石米、石粉供建筑使用，村中有个体白石粉厂。[1]
