科第村在梅仙镇的西南方向，离镇区13公里，村部海拔450米，山林在全村土地中占大头。[1][2]

自然环境[edit]

全村土地约14608亩，其中林地约12988亩，人均林地较多。[1]

林权改革后，约8000亩山场流转给国有公司和场圃，村民可耕作的林地所剩无几。矿产埋藏较深，村民未从中受益。[1]

姓氏与迁居[edit]

村中只有郑姓一个单姓，族人彼此为叔伯妯娌，邻里之间的小纠纷较易化解。[1]

据村中郑氏族谱记载，郑姓先祖于明洪武年间由大田桃源迁居此地，至今已有600多年。[1]

交通[edit]

历史上此地是尤溪通往福州的陆路要道，尤溪人卢兴邦所铺设的官道经过村中。[1]
