星明村位于尤溪县城关镇东南约18公里处，辖前洋、后洋2个自然村，全村为单姓邱氏。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村域土地面积7.56平方千米，其中林地5.112平方千米；耕地1812亩。林地中油茶林544亩、毛竹林1135亩，另有绿竹林204亩与金桔园75亩。[1]

人口与姓氏[edit]

村设14个村民小组，博雅地名网所载为348户，共1401人，男性718人，女性683人，未注统计年份。[1]

元延佑元年（公元1314年），丘伯二自台溪福藤坑迁居八都火甲的马垄坑，成为丘姓始祖。此后于明洪武十五年（公元1382年），姓氏由丘改为邱。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1945年此地属八都，归城溪镇登霞保管辖，俗称坑底，曾名上坪。1951年土改时设乡政权，乡名取「星明」，寓五星红旗光明之意，隶属尤溪县第一区。[1]

1952年至1953年属台溪区，1954年起归城关区。1958年设星明大队，1984年10月改制为星明村，村部设在坑底。[1]
