西街社区位于尤溪县城关镇中心，北倚七五路，南靠青印溪，是镇内商贸最集中的社区，辖区内有朱子文庙与金鱼井两处古迹。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区的前身为建设西街，民国前与民国初同属宣德街，民国末年隶属城溪镇的三民保。[1]

1950年初设西街人民政府，同年6月随城关镇人民政府成立而撤销。1970年3月城关镇改造时成立建设街，1981年4月26日经福建三明地区行政公署批复，建设街更名为建设西街。[1]

人口与辖区[edit]

东界为中心路，西抵和贵路，北面紧邻七五路，南侧则为青印溪，辖区面积0.1平方千米。设10个居民小组，博雅地名网所载为1715户、5225人（男2672人、女2553人），未注统计年份。[1]

个体经营户共计621家；其中娱乐场所3家、旅店7家、大型商场1家，另有餐饮店与大小酒楼27家。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

朱子文庙坐落在现中心广场右侧，历朝几经搬迁，清乾隆五十八年（1793年）回迁到如今的位置。现存大成殿为乾隆以后所建，殿宇为杉木结构。殿前设露台，两侧为东西庑，庙门之外有泮池、石桥与棂星门。1984年，省、县两级出资重建，同年竣工，目前被列为县首批文物保护单位。[1]

西街通驷桥下有金鱼井，建于唐代，井身凹入石壁之中，泉水清澈甘甜，大旱不竭。相传朱熹常来此井，井中有一公一母两条金鱼，后人因此称之为金鱼井。该页所述，如今已无人再见其中有鱼。[1]
