高才村位于湖美乡东部，距乡政府约7公里，下游与尤溪相邻，背靠德化。[1][2]

村名原作高才坂。村后有三级高台，村前山峰状如笔尖，相传此地会出人才，故称高才。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年改为湖美乡高才村。1961年分出，设高才大队；1958年村子属湖美公社。[1]

1950年2月，村子划归大田第七区的高才乡；此前民国时期与邻村合为一保，属京仙乡；明清则属大田东区三十都。[1]

1934年7月，粟裕、罗炳辉率领红七军团、红九军团共一万余人在本村会合，并建立高才乡苏维埃政府。[3]

地理环境[edit]

村庄为库区移民村，移民后全村后靠，现有移民户72户275人。在全县库区移民村中规模最大，历史上移民总数达1230人。[2]

文化[edit]

旧址种德堂位于高才村15号，即「高才乡苏维埃政府旧址」，县政府2015年公布的抗战纪念设施名录把它与粟裕旧居、「红军北上抗日先遣队驻扎地旧址」合列为一条。[4]

村内另设有「大田县红军北上抗日先遣队革命历史陈列馆」。[4]

2010年，本村创建为省级生态村；村内实行新村统一规划、污水统一处理、垃圾统一清运。[2]

2024年7月，本村被列为2023年度三明市达标「六无」村（社区）。[1]
