后坑村位于湖美乡西侧，距乡政府约13公里，与德化县村美乡交界。[1]

村庄坐落在湖美后面的坑垅之中，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，村境属大田东区三十一都；民国时期属京仙乡。1950年2月划为大田第七区的一部分，1958年属湖美公社，1984年改称湖美乡后坑村。[1]

文化[edit]

2024年7月，本村被列为2023年度三明市达标「六无」村（社区）；同月又被确定为2021至2023年度三明市达标「六无」村（社区）。[1]
