大尤村位于湖美乡东侧，距乡政府约7公里。[1]

村庄地处坑垅之间，境内有大尤山与大尤坑，村名取其中“大尤”二字。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，村境属大田东区三十一都；民国时期归京仙乡。1950年2月划入大田第七区的一个乡。[1]

1958年湖美公社成立时，本村与西燕同属一个大队；1961年分出，设立大尤大队；1984年改称湖美乡大尤村。[1]

文化[edit]

2024年7月，本村被列为2023年度三明市达标「六无」村（社区），同月又被确定为2021至2023年度三明市达标「六无」村（社区）。[1]
