西燕村位于湖美乡东侧，距乡政府约3公里，以苗木培育与销售为主要产业。[1][2]

村名取自旧时的西头与石燕坑两处地名：1951年两地合设一个乡，各取一字组成村名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年湖美公社成立后，村内设西燕大队；1961年石燕坑分出，仍沿用西燕大队之名；1984年改称湖美乡西燕村。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村内林地面积5327亩，水田274亩，数字见于博雅地名网，页面未注统计年份。[2]

村里的苗木培育带动了39户农户种植苗木，村内设有苗木合作社与苗木服务站。[2]

文化[edit]

2024年7月，本村被列为2023年度三明市达标「六无」村（社区），同月又被确定为2021至2023年度三明市达标「六无」村（社区）。[1]
