湖美乡隶属福建省三明市大田县，位于县境东北部，东接德化县，西连均溪镇和前坪乡，南临华兴镇，北靠梅山镇。乡境内有闽湖库区。[1][2]

全乡下辖的行政村数目各处不一：大田县人民政府页面称辖16个行政村，博雅地名网及县政府2017年公布的征地区片综合地价通知则列出17个。[1][2][7]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，境内各村分属大田东区的三十、三十一、三十二都；民国时期多数村落归京仙乡管辖。[2]

1951年设湖美乡，1950年代建立湖美公社，1984年9月改称湖美乡，公社体制随之结束，此后沿用至今。[2][3]

地理环境[edit]

乡境面积142平方千米，县政府页面如此记载；百度百科则记为138.46平方千米。[1][3]

闽湖是一座人工湖，湖美库区又名七星湖，库周多为山地，湖面水域约8790亩。该湖所在地与尤溪、德化两县相接，大田县境亦在其中。[1][4]

水利部在2009年批准闽湖为国家级水利风景区。2011年，省林业部门把七星湖一带的林地定为省级森林公园；2016年，国家发改委将闽湖纳入良好湖泊的生态保护规划范围。[1]

2009年，乡里获评省级「环境优美乡镇」；2014年，又被生态环境部评为「国家级生态乡」。[1][2]

人口民族[edit]

2024年，乡内常住人口为4981人，户籍有3501户；按户籍口径统计的总人口则为1.42万人。[1]

乡内库区移民较多，移民村共7个，移民约3500人，是全县库区移民规模最大的乡。[1]

经济[edit]

粮食作物以水稻为主，搭配大豆、花生和几种薯类；瓜类、洛神花与油茶是常见的经济作物。[1]

近年来油茶、苗木等特色种养业有所发展，桔柚、火参果、生姜，以及库区生态渔业和肉兔养殖也各有规模。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

高才村内的种德堂是「高才乡苏维埃政府旧址」，同一处还包括粟裕旧居与「红军北上抗日先遣队驻扎地旧址」，县政府2015年公布的抗战纪念设施名录把三者合列为一条。[5]

高才村另设有「大田县红军北上抗日先遣队革命历史陈列馆」。[5]

旺建村有攀桂堡，县政府页面称旺建古堡，博雅地名网载为县级文物保护单位。[1][6]

高峰上建有圆梦园寺，大锣山与高峰一带留有芝山书院讲学遗址，朱熹曾到湖美游历讲学。[1]

文化[edit]

乡内还有七井古泉、元安古琴与苎麻古纺布等文化遗存，其中元安村被列为省级传统村落，属第三批。[1]
