象山村因村内最高峰象山而得名。象山海拔1452米，乡政府网站称它为大田县第二高峰，山顶为福建的地理中心。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村子早年隶属黄认团，民国初年归谢武乡管辖。新中国成立后进入第八区，继而改属均溪区，1961年在谢洋公社下设象山大队。[1]

1984年建乡时定名谢洋乡象山村。1997年它曾与坑口村并为一村，2010年再度分出，单独设立象山村村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年7月，象山村先后被命名为「2023年度三明市达标六无村（社区）」，并被确定为「2021-2023年三明市达标六无村（社区）」。[1]
