瑞美村位于屏山乡东部，西与美阳村接壤，南与许坑村相邻，北与和坑村毗邻。村子坐落于群山环抱的小盆地中。村名的来历有两说：博雅地名网称，此地由梅阳堂的一支迁来下游洋面开基，原名下村洋，民国时设瑞美保，之后沿用瑞美之名；百度百科则称，因村庄被绿树与毛竹覆盖而得名。[1][3][5]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年以前在德化县辖区内；1950年转入大田县；1958年编入屏山公社，为瑞美大队；1984年改名屏山乡瑞美村，组建村民委员会。[1][4]

经济[edit]

村民以种植业为主，毛竹、油茶与茶叶是主要作物，也能带来额外的收入。村内没有工业企业，也没有规模化的畜禽养殖。[2]

文化[edit]

2021年11月，瑞美村被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。2024年7月，村内被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」，并被确定为「2021-2023年三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]
