光明村位于文江镇东南部，东侧与梅山乡金阳村为邻，西侧隔着太华镇华山村，南侧是后洋村，北侧接龙门村。[1]

村中有小河穿流，姓氏以林氏为多。村下片的荣龙堂为一处有480多年历史的祖房建筑。[2]

2024年7月，光明村先后取得「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」的命名，并被确定为「2021-2023年三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]
