历史沿革[edit]
奇韬一名，古时写作奇滔。相传西南方向有一块石头会不断流出大米，故称奇滔；清末有文人把“滔”字改为“韬”，以示雅致。[2][3]
明清时期，此地人口渐多、聚落渐成规模，居民大多务农，兼营采矿，石灰石的开采尤为人所知。[1]
民国时期，今奇韬一带分属大田县均溪镇与文江镇的部分保甲。1950年设奇韬乡，隶属大田县第六区，区名后改为均溪区，“奇韬”之名自此正式使用。1958年划归均溪公社，1961年析出另设奇韬公社；1970年有一段时间并入文江公社，1984年撤销公社体制后又恢复为奇韬乡。[1]
到1992年，省政府批复同意，原奇韬乡的建制改为镇。博雅地名网与百度百科则作1998年撤乡建镇，此处以政府网站为准。[1][2][4]
地理环境[edit]
地形北高南低，海拔逾千米的山峰计有三座。大田北部的制高点永仙峰位于洋地村，标高1161米。[1]
镇内耕地有11070亩，林地106145亩，其中森林覆盖率为72.58%。土地面积以政府网站所载的72平方千米为准，百度百科作70.74平方千米。[1][4]
境内矿产有煤炭、瓷土、石灰石、铁矿石和铅锌矿等。煤炭和石灰石的总储量都在1000万吨以上；铁矿石有600万吨；瓷土有5000万吨，为全县最多，集中于洋地村与永德村。[1]
人口民族[edit]
大田县人民政府网站介绍，镇内共12个村，下设63个村民小组；户数3973，人口1.44万，该页未注统计年份。[1]
百度百科所载的人口数字则为2019年末户籍人口15095人。[4]
文化[edit]
近年来，镇获得的称号有「省级乡村振兴特色乡镇」、「一村一品」示范村镇、三明市「文明乡镇」和大田县「生态建设示范镇」，并连续四届被评为省级「文明镇」。[1]
2021年2月，奇韬镇列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
文韬乡苏维埃政府旧址在奇韬村。1933年9月，红军东方军在当地给予帮助，随即设立文韬乡苏维埃政府，主席为郑新景。政府办公地设在双龙堂，建筑为坐西朝东的木瓦单层结构，占地约31亩。[5]

镇内出过一些人物：清代的方腾云，为独行之士；拔贡诗人郑云；参与运十客机研发的郑玉光；从事高原气象工作的郑成均。[1]
