池元村坐落于太华镇的西北角，离212省道约4公里。[1]

地名由来[edit]

相传古时村中有两口池塘，名为“池园”，后谐音雅化，改写为“池元”。[1]

沿革[edit]

早先称“上厅门”。明清时期归大田三十七都；1950年划入汤泉区的池园乡。1970年回到太华公社，名为池园大队；1984年建立池元村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，池元村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。2024年7月，获得「2023年度三明市达标六无村（社区）」称号。[1]
