地名由来[edit]
村名取自村中古时所建土堡名称中的“万”字，与水尾白马湖的“湖”字合成。[1][2]
文物与建筑[edit]
村中央立着万全土堡，朝向西方，占地2017平方米，经整修后如今作为老年体育协会的活动场所。[2]
村内的连揔墓为清代古墓葬，2009年1月列为县级文物保护单位。[3]
乡村特色[edit]
万湖村的“一堡三园”是镇内的乡村特色之一，该村的党建主题公园、乡村振兴馆和汉剧文化园也连成一线。[4]
村中有民间汉剧团，演出传统和新编剧目，演出范围延伸到永安、漳平等周边县市的农村。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，万湖村被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2022年10月，被认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」；2025年11月，被确定为「福建省2025年度省级一村一品专业村」，专业方向为槐猪。[1]
