元沙村是广平镇下辖的行政村，以茶叶为主导产业，村内有成片的生态茶园。[3]

地名与历史沿革[edit]

此地水清沙多，明代称玄沙，因玄与元读音相近而改称元沙。[1]

1958年属广平公社，1984年改称广平镇元沙村并设村民委员会。1956年属文江区，1950年初属第四区，民国时属广铭乡，明清时属大田北区四十五都。[1][2]

嘉靖十四年（1535年）设大田县之前，此地属尤溪县广泽乡，此后划归大田。[1]

经济[edit]

村内的茶叶种植面积较大，有制茶的初制厂房，并开展过制茶和采摘修剪的技术培训。[1]

荣誉[edit]

元沙村于2018年10月被农业农村部推介为「2018年中国美丽休闲乡村」。[1]

元沙村于2020年12月入选「2020年度福建省“一村一品”示范村」名单，产品为茶叶。[1]

元沙村于2021年2月被司法部、民政部公布为「第八批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]

元沙村于2021年11月被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

2025年3月，元沙村被命名为「第七届全国文明村镇」；同年11月，被认定为「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
