明清时期属龙下里，称培冈村，清代改称昆冈村。民国时期属辛昆保，建国初曾属多个区，并称新昆乡。[1]
1958年属济村公社，设昆岗大队；1984年设昆岗村民委员会。[1]

烟叶、油茶和水稻是村里的主要产业。[1]
