横锁村是城南镇下辖的行政村，城乡分类属村庄。村名得自村南一列横向山地，其形如锁，挡住了九龙溪的弯流。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清两代此地属宁化新村里，村名即为横锁。民国归城南镇辖，称横锁保。[2][3]

新中国成立初期属第一区横锁乡；1958年成为横锁公社之下的大队；1984年属横锁乡时设立村民委员会，至今未变；1992年起隶属城南乡。[2][3]

横锁村于2022年12月获评「2022年福建省卫生村」，评定单位为省爱国卫生运动委员会；2024年7月，被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]
