夏家村位于城郊镇北部，辖3个自然村、6个村民小组。村名沿用原大队驻地夏家坊的名称，取「夏家」二字。[1]

2024年7月，夏家村获评「2023年度三明市达标六无村（社区）」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期此地属永丰里，民国时期隶属第一区城东镇的龙上保。建国初仍属城东镇，1958年划入武义公社，1959年改属济村公社，称夏家大队。1961年归城关工委的上畲公社；1966年起由城关公社管辖。[1]

1984年改设夏家村民委员会。[1]

村里经济以种植业为主，外出务工的人也较多。[1]
