高堑村位于宁化县城以东约2公里处、翠江东岸的河谷阶地上，是城郊镇下辖的行政村。村子坐落在山丘之间，村名取自两侧坑谷相隔、形如壕沟的地貌。[1][2]
2022年12月，高堑村获得「2022年福建省卫生村」称号，由福建省爱国卫生运动委员会命名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明清时期，此地属兴善里；民国时期隶属第一区城东镇的高堑保。建国初期划入第一区连屋乡。[1]
此后该村先后划归城关公社、县共青团农场，并多次改名，1984年改设高堑村民委员会，此后沿用至今。[1]
据百度百科，唐开元年间设县时，县署一度设在黄连冈，即今高堑村江下一带。[2]
文物古迹[edit]
村内东山庵古建筑群以明代佛殿为主体，清代曾经修缮，1984年被列为县级文物保护单位。[2]
境内有江背遗址等4处古文化遗址，出土的陶器遗存年代从新石器时代延续到商周时期；江背遗址发现于1958年。[2]
伍家塘建有宁化长征出发纪念馆。[2]

村中经济以种菜、养殖水产和跑运输为主。[2]
