棠地村位于水茜镇东北部，距镇政府约8千米，与明溪县、建宁县地界相连。[1][2]

村名由来：早年范姓在此开基，村周池塘甚多，村址建在池塘之间，称塘地，音转为棠地。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代此地属招贤里，一直延续到清代。1943年改属招贤镇，设棠地保。1950年起先后属第四区、第五区，1952年设棠地乡，1956年划入中沙区。1958年起为水茜公社的棠地大队，1964年又合为一个大队；1984年设棠地村民委员会，2015年底起属水茜镇。[1]

文化旅游[edit]

村内河下塅坳子山上的河下塅战斗遗址，连同革命烈士纪念碑，为一般不可移动文物。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

2024年7月，棠地村获得2023年度三明市达标「六无」村（社区）的称号。[1]
