寒谷村地处闽赣边境一带，村名「寒谷」即贫瘠的山谷。[1]

村子多丘陵，平均海拔300—400米。[2]

村子属革命老区，也是长征出发地之一。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2023年12月，村子被认定为「2023年度福建省“一村一品”专业村」，产品为山苏。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清时村子属龙上下里；民国时属石碧乡寒谷保，「二战」期间一度属石城县朱坑苏区。[3]

1943年至1944年属凤山乡，设寒谷保；1945年改称田谷保，解放前夕恢复寒谷保之名。[3]

新中国成立初划入禾口二区的凤山乡，定名寒谷村；1958年归凤山公社，1961年设寒谷大队，1966年划归淮土公社，改名光明大队，1974年恢复寒谷大队，1984年改设淮土乡寒谷村民委员会。[3]
