安远社区是安远镇下辖的社区，位于镇中心区，由居民委员会管理。[1]

1956年，一批个体手工业者以联合社和合作小组的形式组织起来，这是居委会的前身；1984年改乡之后先设临时居民领导小组，1987年7月居民委员会才正式设立。[1]

此地原名黄土岗，因地处偏远、人们盼望安定，遂改称安远。[1]

2024年7月，社区被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]
