谢新村位于泉上镇东南，离集镇约1.5公里，由6个自然村组成。[1][2]
村名原作谢坊，因村内多谢姓族人而得名；后为避免重名，改称谢新村。[1]
1933年，东方军曾驻扎在村中，村内还留有红军战壕、碉堡等旧迹和红军井。[2]
荣誉方面，谢新村在2019年12月进入首批国家森林乡村之列；2021年9月，又获第二批全国乡村治理示范村的认定；2021年11月，被列为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2025年3月，获「第七届全国文明村镇」的称号，同月还被认定为「福建省第一批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
早年村地在泉上里，民国时编为谢青保。1950年归第四区元仲乡，称谢青村；次年改为谢青乡。1958年划为泉上公社的谢坊大队，此后名称几经变化，1981年定为谢新大队，1984年改设谢新村民委员会。[1]
