北山社区位于宁化城区，属翠江镇。社区名取自县城的一座山。上世纪八十年代初，城区拓宽中山路、修建北大街，拆迁户迁往北山，在此建成居民新村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年6月获批设立北山居民委员会。2021年11月，北山社区获「2021年福建省卫生社区」称号，授予单位为福建省爱卫办。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

北山顶峰上立有宁化革命烈士纪念碑，1977年建成，高18米，用青白色花岗石砌成，县革命纪念馆在其旁。纪念碑为革命遗址及纪念建筑，属福建省文物保护单位，1991年4月17日公布。[2][3]
