铁石村因蕴藏铁矿而得名，博雅地名网将其列为乡中心区，乡内的伍家大墓也在村中。[2][1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年归沙芜大队管辖。1961年清宁分县后另立铁石大队，1984年由大队改为村民委员会，沿用至今。[2][3]

2024年7月，村子获评「2023年度三明市达标六无村（社区）」。[2] 据政府网站，铁石村是省级乡村振兴示范村的第三批创建单位之一。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

伍家大墓位于铁石矶头包竹坑，为明万历戊戌年（1598年）所建，墓主伍廷宰曾任湖、广、浙三地训导，并任龙溪教谕、学正等职。墓依山而建，墓前原立有十余米高的石旗杆。[1]

铁石村革命烈士墓属近现代纪念设施，2018年7月30日，清流县将其列为第五批县级文物保护单位。[4]
