下谢村是长校镇的革命老区基点村，紧挨省道204线，村子北面通往镇政府所在地。[1]

村子原名狮石乡，解放后改称下谢村。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1945年村子属堡里乡留茜保，1950年属灵地区留茜乡，1951年至1956年间属五区的一个乡。1958年清宁县期间为长校公社的一个大队；1961年恢复清流县建制后，成为长校公社的一个生产队，称下谢生产队。[6]

1978年至1979年间，长校公社在此试行杂交水稻制种，设立下谢良种场。1984年恢复乡镇建制后隶属长校乡；1990年由原村分出，设立村委会，1992年改隶长校镇。另一处记载则说1986年10月才正式设立行政村。[6][2]

人口民族[edit]

村中以吴姓、谢姓为主，两姓各占全村人口的一半左右。据博雅地名网，吴姓于元朝的1279年前后由龙岩迁入，谢姓于1028年迁入。[2]

文化[edit]

村中主要建筑有狮石庙、红军桥、狮石亭（下谢亭），以及吴氏宗祠、吴屋宗祠和谢氏公祠。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

谢氏祠堂的红军标语旧址属于红色旅游景点，祠堂外墙留有5幅红军标语，正面一幅为识字歌。1931年1月，红12军101团一部进驻村子，宣传发动群众，下谢乡苏维埃政权由此成立。[3]

下谢红军桥遗址位于村前小溪上。红军到来前，村民过溪只能跨踩溪中的大石；1931年1月，红军在此架起简易木桥，群众便称之为红军桥。如今桥为钢筋混凝土结构，长约30米，宽3米。[4]

下谢的红十二军驻地旧址，即湖远公祠，被列为清流县级文物。[5]

1975年，村中曾发现《下谢村贫农团分配土地榜》等文物。[3][6]

荣誉[edit]

2024年7月，下谢村被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」，此后又被确定为「2021-2023年三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]
