范元村位于嵩口镇南面，是镇下辖的行政村。主村离镇区8公里，离县城26公里，全村辖4个自然村。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村子原名药范，因村里以种植中药材为业而得名。1981年，因“药范”与“要饭”音近，改名为范元。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国年间，本村属复兴乡围埔保。1950年改归沙芜区，次年转入一区的围埔乡，1956年又划入嵩口区。[1]

1958年改属卫星公社。1961年，村隶属嵩口公社，大队名仍为药范；1981年8月19日起改称范元大队，1984年才成为范元村并设村委会。[1]

2024年1月，村里获「2023年福建省卫生村」称号；同年7月，又获「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」称号。[1]

村里的主要产业是油茶林与中药材种植。[1]
