时州村位于嵩溪镇北部的高山地区，离镇区十余公里，是山区行政村。辖上地、丁上、时州三个自然村。[1][2]

村名的来历，据百度百科所载，是古时山神欲搬走村前一座石山以建洲，计划未成；“石”“时”、“洲”“州”同音，村名由此而来。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

旧时此地属永得乡群周保，1950年成为嵩溪区团结乡的一部分。1958年10月公社化时并入英雄公社团结大队；1961年后划为嵩溪公社的时州大队，1984年改为嵩溪乡时州村。[1][2]

人口与经济[edit]

截至2012年末，村中有532人，共116户。大姓为余、邱二姓。[1][2]

村以生态林业为主，主产毛竹、冬笋、笋干、红菇和香菇。村中建有时州水库，总库容500万立方米。[1][2]
