嵩溪畲族村位于嵩溪镇政府所在地，是镇中心的村庄。204省道穿村而过，嵩溪河绕村流淌。村中老街保留着红军时期的旧址。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

老街上的区苏维埃政府遗址，原为嵩溪余氏的祖厝，堂名都慰第。1932年，这座宅院用作嵩溪区苏维埃政府的驻地。[1]

红军瞭望台位于老街中心，跨街而立，是独立第七师等部驻守嵩溪时使用的岗亭。[3]

经济[edit]

据2011年的统计，全村共426户、1883人，下辖3个自然村和13个村民小组。[1]

鲜切花、绿化苗木、无公害蔬菜、粉条和淡水养殖构成村里的主要产业。[1]

荣誉[edit]

「2021年福建省卫生村」称号于2021年11月落到本村；2022年10月，福建省农业农村厅将本村认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
