夏坊村位于明溪县西北部，是夏坊乡政府所在地，坐落在国家级君子峰自然保护区的山脚下。[1]
地名由来[edit]
旧时集市设在高塘坪上，地名先称“上方”，集市迁至坪下后又称“下方”。因夏姓先民在此居住，地名最终改称“夏坊”。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村域内有纳入君子峰自然保护区的生态林，保护区内动植物种类繁多。[2]
沿革[edit]
早年先后隶属宁化县与清宁县，1964年回归明溪，1968年并入红卫公社，1981年划归夏坊公社。1987年设夏坊乡夏坊村，村委会设在合堂丘。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月获评「2021年福建省卫生村」，2022年10月经认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
