夏坊乡位于明溪县西北部，地处明溪、宁化、建宁、泰宁四县交界处，乡政府驻夏坊村，距明溪县城约55公里。境内山林广阔，森林覆盖率高，君子峰国家级自然保护区在乡内，地处闽江源头金溪流域。土地革命时期这里是红军活动的地区，留有多处苏维埃政府遗址。[1][2][5]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，“夏”与“下”同音，地名取意于老屋下方的作坊。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期此处属归化县下觉里一都，1933年至1935年间属彭湃县。建国初划入盖洋第三区，1953年分出另设夏坊区公所，称第四区，1956年改属宁化县夏坊区。1958年设鳌坑乡，同年下半年改为公社。1964年回归明溪，1981年6月称夏坊公社，1983年为明溪县夏坊区辖地，1987年8月始称夏坊乡。[3]

土地革命与红色遗址[edit]

1932年3月，红3军团的部分主力进入鳌龙一带开辟工作区，鳌龙区苏维埃政府随之建立。同年4月4日，夏坊乡苏维埃政府在夏坊玉皇楼前召开群众大会宣告成立，此后随主力红军战略转移，乡苏维埃政府停止活动。[4]

据乡简介，史料可查的牺牲红军人数为42人，约占当时人口的2.3%。乡内遗存红色遗址十余处，如红军桥，并建有鳌坑苏维埃纪念馆。[1]

地理环境[edit]

夏坊溪、中溪、苎畲溪三条主要河流流经全乡，境内有芦下坡、蒙洲、水口三座水电站和三个中型水库，全域水环境长年保持较高水质。[1]

乡内森林覆盖率达87.5%，君子峰国家级自然保护区与省级鸣溪湿地公园核心区均在境内。[1]

经济[edit]

传统农业以烟叶、水稻、蔬菜和猕猴桃为主，乡内种植台湾品种蔬菜，建有猫牙米（五香稻）示范基地，并发展多花黄精、茯苓等林下经济。[1]

文化与名胜古迹[edit]

鳌龙区苏维埃政府旧址在鳌坑村，夏坊乡苏维埃政府遗址在夏坊乡中学校园内，苎畲乡苏维埃政府遗址在苎畲村。[4]

玉皇楼建于清代，木结构，屋顶为歇山式，前后两进，该楼属县级文物保护单位，于1987年4月公布。黄地红军驻地旧址（李家祖屋）在黄地村，属一般不可移动文物。[4]

县级文物保护单位有苎畲乡苏维埃政府旧址（夏氏祠堂）一处，位于苎畲村。[4]

乡内有观鸟点8处和观鸟民宿4家，每年吸引外地观鸟爱好者前来研学，另有休闲垂钓场与森林步道。[1]

「漾豆腐」「古法榨油」「明溪新建春社」被列入县级非物质文化遗产。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年12月，乡被评为「2022年福建省卫生乡镇」。同年10月，经福建省农业农村厅认定，本乡列入「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」，乡简介称之为第二批省级乡村治理示范乡镇。环境保护部于2014年6月授予本乡「2012—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」称号。[2][1]
