瑶奢村是明溪县沙溪乡下辖的行政村，位于县境正东部，306省道贯穿全境，是全乡平均海拔最低的村。[1]
村名[edit]
瑶奢村又名“瑶车”“瑶社”。明万历《归化县志》写作“摇车”。据第一次地名普查，明清时期此地设窑较多，因窑场排列无序，“窑”与“瑶”同音，于是取名瑶奢。[2][3]
历史沿革[edit]
1987年起称瑶奢村委会，隶属沙溪乡，此名沿用至今；此前1983年为沙溪区瑶奢乡。1964年明溪县恢复后，这里是沙溪公社的瑶奢大队，1958年属三明县岩前公社。1952年称明溪县二区沙溪。1941年为溪口乡的瑶奢保，1935年属明溪县二区，1933年为三区，明清时期属归化县归下里十七都。[4]
