盖洋镇在明溪县西北部，离县城23公里，与城关乡、夏坊乡相连；镇界外面接着清流、宁化、泰宁、将乐四个县，境内有莆炎高速公路和两条省道穿过[1]。境内种植水稻和烟叶，温庄贡米是明溪县的地理标志产品[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
盖洋镇旧时也称竹子洋[3]。宋代这一带属宁化县，名为杨柳里；明成化七年（1471年）改属归化县[4]。
镇名取自驻地所在的盖洋村。相传宋时李氏族人在一处平坦开阔的地方，一夜之间盖起了成片的房屋，地方因此得名“盖洋”[3]。
民国时期和新中国成立初期称第三区，1954年设盖洋区；1956年三元与明溪县合并，盖洋区划入三明县；1958年成立盖洋人民公社；1984年恢复为明溪县盖洋人民公社，1987年改设盖洋镇人民政府[4]。
2020年12月，省爱卫办授予盖洋镇「福建省卫生乡镇」称号[3]。2021年2月，盖洋镇列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单[3]。
地理环境[edit]
镇域处于君子峰、龙栖山两个国家级自然保护区中间的接合地带，森林覆盖率为79.42%[1]。当地已记下200多种野生鸟类，蓝喉蜂虎、三宝鸟、鸳鸯、东方白鹳都在其中，它也是东亚至澳大利亚候鸟迁徙路线上的一个重要站点[1]。
2014年6月，环境保护部授予盖洋镇「2012—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」称号[3]。
人口民族[edit]
据2026年3月发布的镇简介，全镇户籍人口1.98万人，常住人口1.1万人[1]。
经济[edit]
境内种植水稻、烟叶，林下还套种红豆杉、闽楠等珍贵树种[2]。常坪蕉芋、盖洋鲜切花、桂林西瓜与温庄贡米这四项，先后被评为省市两级「一村一品」示范，镇里还拿到了「省级农业强镇（优质稻）」的称号[1]。
文化[edit]
列入县级非物质文化遗产名录的有「明溪盖洋牛会」和「明溪盖洋板凳龙」[5]。县级非遗代表性项目一共有七项[1]。
名胜古迹[edit]
盖洋镇是省里认定的革命老区重点乡镇，红色遗存较多，全镇现有县级文物保护单位4处[1]。
