历史沿革[edit]
村名原作邓厝街，邓姓聚居于此，后与他姓混住，遂按方言读音改为锦街。[2]
1940年以前，这里归扬光乡管辖，属锦湖保的一部分；1947年才改隶湖源乡。1958年起归洋溪人民公社的湖源管理区管辖，1961年编为湖源公社的湖二大队。1984年公社体制撤销，此处改设锦街村村民委员会，名称沿用至今。[3]
