湖源乡在福建省三明市沙县区南端，东面与大田县广平镇为邻，西面连着三元区中村乡，北面是沙县区大洛镇。[1][2] 地名的来历：四面是山，遇水常成湖泊，洛溪、黄墩溪、铭溪三条溪流又于此起源，由此得名。[2] 1933年至1934年间，中央红军东方军在圳头村、城前村一带活动，留下的湖源中央红军东方军旧址群于2018年被公布为福建省文物保护单位。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代，这一带隶属翔鸾乡礼宾里。元代改为仪奉团，明清时团改为都，隶属二十都，又称「仪奉团」。[2][6]

1915年实行区乡制，本地属上南区，区内设洋溪乡。1939年，洋官联保转为杨光示范乡的建制；1940年地方自治推行后，联保又改成乡（镇）公所。[6]

新中国成立当年，即1949年，本地建起湖源乡，所辖地名计有湖源、圳头、锦湖、龙凤、罗坑源、华口、上洋、中洋八处。乡公所于1951年至1955年间成为乡人民政府，1956年又称湖源乡。[6]

1958年乡制取消，先办湖源高级合作社；同年十月高级社撤销，并入上游人民公社，下设湖一至湖五五个大队。湖源公社于1961年12月组建，由洋溪工委管辖。1984年，湖源人民公社改为湖源乡，沿用至今。[4][6]

乡境平均海拔810米，距306省道7公里，距县城46公里。[1] 据政府网站，本乡地域有5.4万亩，耕地约0.68万亩，林地4.4万亩；百度百科则载区域总面积为35.18平方千米。[1][4]

政府网站《湖源乡简介》载：人口6834人，分属1600户，划为44个村民小组。[1] 百度百科所载的数字为2019年末户籍人口6802人。[4]

经济[edit]

全乡有果园约1545亩、茶园约1700亩。各村的主要产品为笋干、黄花梨与茶叶。[1]

文化[edit]

沙县区市级非遗项目中列有「湖源迎龙和迎烛桥」。[5]

2024年1月，湖源乡被命名为「2023年福建省卫生乡镇」。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

湖源中央红军东方军旧址群位于圳头村与城前村，建于1933年至1934年间。城前村的张氏宗祠之外，圳头村的瑞庆堂、燕诒堂、修文堂与双凤堂也属于这一旧址群。[3]

彭德怀与滕代远于1933年8月带领东方军进击沙县，建立了十三个区乡级苏维埃政权。次年一月，东方军又一次向沙县发起攻势，二十五日拿下沙县，并设立苏维埃政府，沙县由此成为中央苏区县。[3]

二月二十五日红军离开沙县，红七军团十九师在闽西北一带转战游击。五月底，该师与国民党军八十师下属的二三九旅在湖源南洋岐高地交火并获胜。[3]

圳头村双凤堂等古厝用竹筋泥砌墙，墙面上至今留有48幅红军时期的宣传标语，有的落款署「红军三军团」。[3] 2018年，福建省人民政府将该旧址群列为第九批省级文物保护单位。[3]
