霞村位于南霞乡的西北一带，西面与虬江街道办事处接壤，与乡政府相距12公里。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1984年改为南霞乡霞村村委会，名称一直延用。在此之前，明清属八都，民国时期隶属南霞乡霞定保。建国初为二区霞村乡，1951年7月归九区霞村乡；1955年划归镇头区，仍称霞村乡；1958年4月取消区建制、合并乡，霞村仍为乡，同年10月成为卫星公社霞村大队；1961年10月划入南坑仔工委霞村公社，1963年11月改属南坑仔公社霞村大队。[2]
荣誉[edit]
霞村获「2023年福建省卫生村」的称号，时为2024年1月；2022年10月，霞村还被列入「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[2]
