高砂镇位于福建省三明市沙县区东部，濒临沙溪河，镇政府所在地为高砂村，全镇下设14个行政村。[1][2]

镇域东边与郑湖乡相接，西侧是凤岗街道，北面连接青州镇，南边邻虬江街道，离沙县城区约15千米。鹰厦铁路与南三龙高速铁路并行穿过镇境，205国道、厦沙高速和福银高速的引线经过镇区，三明（沙县）机场离镇区约6千米。[1][5]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代此地隶属新昌乡洛阳里，元代归杨溪团管辖，明清时期划入五都。[4]

民国初年，1915年实行区乡制，高砂归下南区。1934年全县划为七个区，高砂是第四区，共辖16个联保。1940年联保改为乡镇，成立高砂乡。[4]

1949年8月取消保甲，全县分为3个区，高砂区管辖高砂、青溪、郑湖三个乡。1958年10月，全县区乡建制撤销，改设万能人民公社（管辖高砂地区）；1961年12月改设高砂公社，辖11个大队；1972年，青州公社从高砂公社析出。[4]

1984年，公社改为乡，名称换为高砂乡；1993年，撤乡设镇，定名高砂镇。[4][5]

地理环境[edit]

镇域总面积为160.8平方千米，土地合计19.5万亩，其中林地约17.8万亩，耕地约1.68万亩。[1][3]

沙溪航运的主航道流经镇境。镇内设有鹰厦铁路高砂站。[1][6]

沙县区人民政府网刊载的2025年4月镇简介写明，全镇总人口20395人，未注统计时点。[1]

百度百科所载户籍人口为20380人，统计时点为2019年末。[5]

荣誉[edit]

环境保护部于2014年6月，把「2012—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」称号授予了高砂镇。[2]

高砂镇于2017年11月被中央文明委评为「第五届全国文明村镇」。[2]

镇简介还列出第十一、第十二届省级文明乡镇，以及三明市平安乡镇等荣誉。[1]
