新建村位于夏茂镇西部，距集镇约10公里，处于沙县与将乐、明溪两县的交界处。[1]

地名与沿革[edit]

原扶延大队迁到驻地溪源，于是以新组建的村庄为名（据博雅地名网）。解放前此地属顺昌县郑坊一带；1973年并入沙县夏茂公社的扶延大队，1984年改设新建村村民委员会。[2]

人口与土地[edit]

2017年政府页称，村中两个自然村为新建与扶延；6个村民小组，150户680人，廖姓为主。全村土地37591.5亩，林地30306亩，耕地463.63亩。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，新建村获「2023年福建省卫生村」的命名。[2]
