岩观村位于夏茂镇西部，距集镇约7.5公里。村名的由来：山峰中岩石裸露较多，故名。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

原属十八都，新中国成立后设夏茂区岩观乡。1958年改为夏茂公社的岩观大队，1984年起称岩观村村民委员会，名称沿用至今。[2]

人口与土地[edit]

2017年政府页称：村有岩观、土堡两个自然村；7个村民小组内共236户、1254人，邓、罗、徐为常见姓氏。全村土地9827.85亩，林地7488亩，耕地876.76亩。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内的邓氏家祠建于清代，为邓氏后裔所建，用以纪念沙县迁县始祖邓光布。此人在唐乾符初（874年）任崇安镇将。祠堂为沙县第五批县级文物保护单位。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2021年2月，岩观村入选「福建省2018—2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[2]
