儒元村位于夏茂镇西南部，距集镇约2公里。村名的由来：境内读书人较多，村民生活富裕，故名。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
据百度百科所载，此地的历史可追溯到宋代，俞氏家族迁来后在此定居。[3]
村庄古属十七都，新中国成立后归富口区管辖。1958年，此地成为夏茂公社的儒元大队；1984年起称儒元村村民委员会。[2]
人口与土地[edit]
2017年政府页列出儒元主村、儒元新村、下邦村、邦尾村四个自然村。村中12个村民小组，650户，3112人，罗、邓、林、杨、张为常见姓氏。全村土地6821.1亩，林地2695亩，耕地2169.64亩。[1]
人物与文化[edit]
厦门大学资深教授邓子基生于儒元村，其故居经改造后成为「懿德文化中心」。[3][4]
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，儒元村获「2021年福建省卫生村」的命名；2022年10月，福建省农业农村厅将其认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[2]
