洋元村位于夏茂镇东北部，距集镇约4公里。据博雅地名网，村民在一处晒谷场周围聚居成村，村名由此而来。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前此地属彭梨乡的洋元庄保，解放后归夏茂区洋元庄乡。1958年公社设立时改为洋元大队；1984年起称洋元村村民委员会。[2]

人口与土地[edit]

2017年政府页列出五个自然村：洋元主村、倪邦仔、枧坑、粉干曲和塔边。村中12个村民小组，538户，2082人，张、邓、潘三姓较多。全村土地10356.3亩，林地6646亩，耕地1589.75亩。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月，洋元村入选「福建省第二批高级版绿盈乡村」；2022年10月，福建省农业农村厅将洋元村认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」；2024年1月，洋元村获「2023年福建省卫生村」的命名。[2]
