生态新城社区位于沙县城南，北抵沙溪河，南至职教园，辖区面积21.6平方千米，是虬江街道五个社区中面积最大的一个。[1]

2021年9月29日，社区经辖区优化调整设立。[3]

地理环境[edit]

社区东面接壤规划中的凤岗大桥与站前大道，西邻城关电站厂区。辖区划为4个片区，设18个微网格。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，社区被命名为「2023年福建省卫生社区」；同年7月，又被命名为「2023年度三明市达标六无村（社区）」。[2]
