城南社区位于沙县城南，北邻沙溪河，东面以凤凰路为界，辖区面积1.74平方千米，属虬江街道管辖。[1]

社区的前身是1998年设立的城南居委会，因地处沙溪河南岸而得名。辖区内有沙阳乐园等游览去处。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

1998年8月，城南居委会自李纲居委会的水南片（连同林业新村）分出设立。2001年6月，它改组为城南社区居民委员会，当时仍隶属凤岗镇；2003年9月起归入虬江街道。[2]

地理环境[edit]

社区北面到沙溪河为止，南端抵嘉禾南路与迎宾大道，西侧以规划中的凤岗大桥为界，东侧止于凤凰路。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

沙阳乐园位于凤凰路一带，占地约1212亩，1997年12月开放，园内设有凤凰山森林公园等景点。该乐园属国家2A级旅游区。[2][3]

荣誉[edit]

社区曾被评为市级先进基层党组织，并获市级充分就业社区、市级文明社区的称号。[1]

2024年1月，社区被命名为「2023年福建省卫生社区」；同年7月，又被命名为「2023年度三明市达标六无村（社区）」。[2]
