历史沿革[edit]
明清时期此地属九都辖区。1951年设灵元乡。1985年，大队转为村委会，此后隶属虬江乡。2003年9月，灵元村委会归凤岗街道管辖。[2]
人口民族[edit]
建国前来此打工的外地人多来自尤溪、大田、连城、上杭等地。陈姓先人经贡川、连城迁入，在灵元已传十四代；最早迁入的是余氏家族。[1]
村民姓氏共有48种，人口前五位的姓氏为陈、邓、黄、林、刘。[1]
